The Pool Sharks comprise Tony Jacks and Ross McGeevey. Their first album “Final Adjustments” was recorded between March and April 1987 in London with the help of Johann James on drums, Nick Coler on keyboards and Nic Potter on bass.
The album contains all original compositions by Tony and Ross. Lyrical composition is primarily from Leslie Adey who penned seven of the ten tunes. The three are prime movers of By The Pool Music, the group’s publishing outlet. “Shadows in the Dark” also on the album, features lyrics by Keith Reid who co-wrote John Farnham's massive hit “You’re the Voice”.
Tony and Ross, friends from pre punk days were in The Tigers who recorded albums for A&M Records in Los Angeles and WEA Records in UK and Europe. Two tours of the United states helped solidify their working ideas with regard to live performance and songwriting. This was to develop into The Pool Sharks’s style-sharp rock songs with a country twang topped with refreshing sixties-sounding two part vocal harmonies.
